Student of the Month

Someone here got student of the month! We have been so proud of his leaps and gains this year. I am so glad that he is catching on and becoming quite a smart cookie! He is such a sweet boy just like his mama.

Eye Issues

So last, last Thursday, I took the kids to the eye doctor to get their eyes checked before school starts. They were super fine. Then it was my turn. The doctor is looking in my eyes and then starts putting numbing drops in my eyes and then puts a shining blue light on my eye. He is telling me that I have a hemorrhage in my left eye and that he needed to dilate my eyes and take a picture to see it. It was freaking me out and I think it freaked him out too because he does not see this every day. So I came back on Monday to get them dilated, it was joyful. First I could still text and play games on my phone and then I was blind as a bat. I had a visual field test done before they were dilated and then some bright flashy pictures taken of my eyes. He even numbed them still and looked with the blue light thingy again. The pressure in my eyes were 24 and 27 and the hemorrhage indicates glaucoma. Early Iron thing

Yesterday, we went up into the mountains and picked some huckleberries. We meaning I made sure that I did not lose track of our vehicle. We picked about 2 cups. As nice as it was to get some fresh air and take in the beautiful land, the kids were not into picking but bickering. So we came home and took the kids to the fairgrounds where there was a car show. We looked at a couple old cars. Then saw the fire dept giving rides in their cherry picker. I don't what it is called. They went right up in it and then threw candy down upon our heads. Then as we left, Brayden and Lyndee wanted to climb the rock and press the button at the top. Yay! He made it and the Army dude said, "Just like a ranger!!" Please don't get any ideas, Brayden. Then Lyndee wanted to try and she did. That is as far as she got..and then she came down. Way to do your best!

R.I.P Beloved Pet

This is Merlin Cole. He was 12 years old. We had him since he was 2 months old. I thought it was so adorable how Lyndee put a crown on him two weeks ago and we took a picture of him sleeping. I would have never thought it would be his last. He was...my pet..my buddy....my best friend..  Yes, he was a dog. I don't care what people think about having pets in homes.  I gave my heart to him. He was the one that would follow me everywhere in the house. He would follow me if I went upstairs for a quick drink, or he would even sit in the bathroom while taking a bubble bath. Sitting in my recliner, he would be right next to me. He was my sleeping pal in the winter. We put him on top of the bed in the winter months so he and Clay and I would be warm. My reason was so it would keep the blankets on the bed because Clayton would be a blanket hog in the middle of the night. :) I can't bear the thought of being without him.
