Snow Day #2 Blizzard

Well, I didn't see day #2 coming at all until day #1's forecast. We were supposed to have an A.R. party for the students that made their goal. I guess now their party will be their Christmas party. Score! I don't have to plan their party. This is a view from window. You can't really see anything, huh?
Okay, I really am not a bad parent. The drift by the trampoline looked very enticing until the kids went outside and experienced the 40mph winds. Yeah, I didn't go outside with them until I lost sight of them and panicked. I went outside to see where they were and they were playing on the north side of the house in all the drifts. But they were ready to come in.
They gave up, went to the side of the house that is sheltered, and then came inside. I guess this was an excuse to have some hot cocoa.

I guess I would rather have the snow here than in my driveway. I shoveled the front porch 4 times to help husband out while he was at church.. but I gave up. It kind of still looks like it as well.  I will tackle that tomorrow when it is warmer.
I told him that I forgot to check the mail and I doubt they came since it was a freakin' blizzard. He left work early so he could make it on the street that comes up to our house. All day I watched 3 cars get severely stuck and one was still stuck when he came home. He barely was able to pass by them (no one was in it).Anyways, glad that experience was over and we are definitely buying a snow blower in case the wind decided to blow in a different direction and trap us in or that this winter will be a crappy one. Looks like we have to wait a week or so for one or we might have to brave the roads and head to Utah to purchase one.
This is the aftermath around our property. See in the distance the open field..That is where all this glorious white stuff came from and the sky of course.  The kids will have such a great time carving out snow caves over the next couple days.
The first winter we were here back in 2007, I had to smoosh all the snow around the fence on both sides so my dogs would not escape or get the unwanted mongrels that inhabit our yard to poop in. I think that will be what we will need to do but we will our snow blower do that for us! Yay! The wandering dogs..now that is such a pet peeve!
