I had these lamps for a couple of years in my classroom. My classroom theme has a monster theme but I have been decorating it with greens and purples. Lyndee and I picked the fun Halloween fabrics out. The white and black one was a fat quarter I bought on a whim. I looked for different website to figure out how to get the fabric on these shades.They are awkward shades. I searched the internet for answers. Here is a blog that shows how to do it. I didn't use that blog but a similar one and I can't seem to find it. I used a spray adhesive for the fabric which was easy peasy. The borders were very hard because of the glue that I used wasn't clear.  Next time I will use a fabric glue that dries clear because you can see my goop-i-ness on the black borders. I used bias tape for the borders. It was a good idea and they have different colors to choose from. About two packages did the three lamps. I think they look cute and will look great in my classroom.  JcPenney's had free haircuts for kids for the month of August. Brayden's hair looks great. Lyndee wanted hers cut up to her chin. I let her. She wouldn't let me take a picture of her after it got cut. I snuck one of the back. It is a little uneven but she was a little squirmy in the chair. I might take her in to my place and have them even it out. I think she looks cute!

 Two weekends ago, we went to Meridian to visit the parents. We brought along our girl dog which we won't do again. I will take my older one. We decided to skip the freeway and take the highway through Arco. We couldn't see a thing, too much smoke from the fires. We got to their house on Friday. It was a nice clear day. Then we hit the stores. We needed to finish school shopping and spend some time with the grandparents. The kids, Clayton, and my fab sis in law Erica went to the water park while I went with my mom shopping. It was great. The kids had a great time hitting the waterslides and wave pool. Yup, that's mom. I have always envied her red hair and somehow I got stuck with brown hair (well, gray hair with brown). All in all it was a great trip.  We are going to go again in October to go through the open house of the Boise temple.

 You guessed it, bunnies! They are from the same litter and hopefully they are sisters. We hope to move one of them to another cage next month. We couldn't resist. The kids are going to do 4H next year and showcase their bunnies. They are delightful to clean up after. Note, the sarcasm! So the kids and Clay were sleeping outside, I checked on them and noticed our kitty, Boots was checking them out. She was wondering what they were. Sneaky little cat.

I am indifferent about this football stuff this year. Brayden dazzled us in soccer and was super aggressive to get the ball.  The coach was awesome... But here..I don't know if it is the kids on the team, the coaches that give their sons the plays like last year but that coach learned mid season to give the other kids plays, or maybe it's just me...but I am going to need to learn to bite my tongue a lot for the next 7 games.  The kids are not passing to him when he is open. The other kid tells the quarterback to make sure he throws the ball to him. Then the lil quarterback tells him that he will. It ya know angers me to the bone and my mama bear claws come out. I don't know what to do. I want equal ball time for all the kids not just my son but for the younger ones too.Okay..I know this is what I did...I was fuming so I texted the coach and asked if there was a reason why my son had the ball only once.  I know that there are a lot more plays and it sounds like ...

I know my son is going to kill me for posting this. He is a really nice brother most of the time to Lyndee. I doubt that my own brother would have ever helped me comb snarls out of my hair much less comb my hair. Brayden sure does have a big heart and I think everyone should know that.

As you guessed it, we have done absolutely nothing this summer. Don't be too jealous. It actually has been nice to just waste our days hanging out in our house. WE even slept on the trampoline a couple times (see pictures above). Actually, me twice but husband and kids lots of times. That's okay. This is what the kids will remember. Sometimes, it is just best to be at home!

 With the hot days and mild winter, they were ready before I anticipated it. So we only ended up with a quart of these beauties. I can tell when people used those huckleberry rakes. In the spots that I go, they are all gone. I want to go up Kelly one more time in hopes of searching for some more. Maybe this Saturday. My helper, I didn't know she had flip flops on when we went out in the forest. I don't recommend it and neither does Lyndee.
