Last front tooth out!

Image
Son's last front tooth was wiggly. We thought it had a couple more days but it did not wait. Funny story attached to it though. I had indoor recess duty in the gym today. One of my students came up to me with a couple other from another class and said that they found a tooth. I said that I will take it. I looked at it and said I think it is my son's. I know those teeth! I had my student go to his class to see if he lost his tooth but the door was locked and they were watching a movie. I waited until recess for my students was over and went to his class. Sure enough it was his! He told me that he knocked his mouth on someone's hand and it fell out. I told him that we found it and it raised his spirits. He was so bummed that he couldnt find the tooth...So tonight...the tooth fairy might come!

Yay First Snow Fall of 2010!

Wish she and the rest of them were here...(miss ya) Cute! Snow angels.... Not sure why he wanted to stick his head in the snow. Burning bush by front door..Son is brushing off the dog--the rock dog

Hawaiian chili

Hawaiian Chili. (serves 6) 1 14 oz can of pineapple slices 1 pd of ground pork 1 15 oz can of kidney beans 1 16 oz jar of salsa (black bean and corn is the best, man..try mild..if you get medium..it might be a tad too spicy) 8 oz can of tomato sauce (use the basil one) 1 Tablespoon of chili powder Drain pineapple. Set aside half of the slices and chop the rest. Brown the meat (I used turkey sausage from jenny-o). Pour off any grease. Rinse and drain the beans and add to the meat along with the chopped pineapple, salsa, tomato sauce, and chili powder. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to med low and simmer 10 minutes. Serve with pineapple slices, sprinkled with some extra chili powder if you want.

Trick or treatin fun 2010

Image
Sister Lou was a bunny princess and Little Man was a Scream ghost. Funny that his cousin is the same thing and that was not even planned. Too bad they live in AZ. Here they are with their carved pumpkins. I did a good job, huh? Kids in action....They ended up filling their buckets to the rim last night. I know it was not Halloween night but since we live in Mormonville. Most of everyone went on Sat as too not break the Sabbath. However, I  hope we get more trick or treaters tonight. We had 16 kids at our house last night. This is what we get for living in an itty bitty subdivision...quietness and saving money on candy. Yay!

Someone here had a birthday!

Image
I can't believe it has been 7 years for this. Time is flying and boy, are we having fun with these kids. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I used the candlelight setting on my picture. Not the best...Sorry. Little man turned 7 on Friday and they had a Halloween party in his class. We then went to the Halloween carnival at the school in the evening and had more fun. It was a very busy day!

Pumpkin Carvin'

I told my kids that they needed to clean them out themselves and they did...too goopy for me. I think Sister Lou like used 5 dishtowels to wipe her squishy hands. Little man waited until he was finished. My job was to get the seeds from the goopy stuff so we can eat the seeds later. Then we carved see above Halloween pictures with the faces. Yummy recipe here! Recipe that I used for the seeds. 2 cups of raw seeds 2 teasp. worchestshire sauce 1/2 teasp salt 1/4 garlic salt. Bake at 275 for 1 hour, turning them every 15 minutes.

First front tooth

Image
(he's in the shower...husband took picture of the moment whilst I was out doing my VT) Our son had his first front tooth come out last night. It has been wiggly since the summer. Finally, it was ready. I will be a couple weeks and his other one will soon follow. Sister Lou has no loose teeth as of yet. I can't wait for her to lose her first tooth.
