So last, last Thursday, I took the kids to the eye doctor to get their eyes checked before school starts. They were super fine. Then it was my turn. The doctor is looking in my eyes and then starts putting numbing drops in my eyes and then puts a shining blue light on my eye. He is telling me that I have a hemorrhage in my left eye and that he needed to dilate my eyes and take a picture to see it. It was freaking me out and I think it freaked him out too because he does not see this every day. So I came back on Monday to get them dilated, it was joyful. First I could still text and play games on my phone and then I was blind as a bat. I had a visual field test done before they were dilated and then some bright flashy pictures taken of my eyes. He even numbed them still and looked with the blue light thingy again. The pressure in my eyes were 24 and 27 and the hemorrhage indicates glaucoma. I guess that I lost some of my side peripheral vision because of it. That makes sense because I h...
Some of us teachers have a countdown for the days that are left until that certain freedom. You ALL know what that freedom is? For some it could be...The freedom of ....not reminding a certain student to put their name on their paper every single day. Hello...you should know your name by now and of course I can pick out each and everyone's handwriting. The freedom of....... not having to say Shhh! when you are walking in the halls. The freedom of.....not asking for volunteers to solve a problem. Of course everyone raises their hands but choosing...someone anyone that will get it right the first time. The freedom of...asking where your reading log is when you know it is due every Friday since August.... Oh....and The freedom of....MY alarm clock. I can't wait to sleep in, be a stay at home mom and stay home ALL DAY LONG, and read books all day long. Did I mention stay home all day long for about 3 months? Could someone speed the clock up for me, please? For me this year the coun...
My baby girl turned 8 last Monday. On Saturday, she was baptized. This was a very special and exciting day for her. This is a very important event in the life of person who is in the LDS faith. It is spiritual occasion and filled with tears of joy and happiness. She wore a beautiful white dress and white shoes. This is to symbolize the purity. When you are baptized, all sins are erased and you are clean. White represents that serenity. One of my friends made this cake for Lyndee. It was so delicious. Under the fondant, it was a white cake with a raspberry filling layer. We are getting ready to go to the church for it but we had to do a photoshoot. Her grandma had this towel made for her on this special day. At Lyndee's baptism, she had to be baptized twice because her feet came up. It was a good experience and the girl after her had it done too. Lyndee was presented in front of the congregration and she also bore her...
