Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

When my mom was here visiting the kids and me last month, she brought me recipe galore ideas from AZ. This one really stood out so I made some. Then I realize, next time, I am going to forget the chocolate chips and add raisins. Then I thought...forget the raisins, how about some huckleberries or raspberries. So..anyways, if you make these, tell me and let me know what you tried..I am going to make some more next week or so without chocolate.

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teas baking soda
1/2 teas ground cinnamon
1/2 teas salt
1/2 cup canola oil
2/3 cups white sugar
2/3 cups brown sugar
2 egg whites
1 1/4 teas vanilla extract
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
3/4 cups semisweet choco chips or chunks (4 oz) **I used milk chocolate chip.

Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a med size bowl. Whisk together oil, sugar, and brown sugar in a LARGE bowl. Whisk in egg whites and vanilla until smooth. Stir in dry ingredients (flour mixture) until blended. Fold in oats and then chocolate. (I had to add some drops of water because it was not sticking together as Id like)....Cover and chill for atleast 15 minutes.

Heat oven to 375. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper (**I didn't do the and I wish that I did** ). Shape dough into balls by hand. With fingers, press each into a patty about 3 inches in diameter. Allow 2 inches between patties. Bake 7-10 minutes. Let cool or eat.
