We carved our pumpkins. I had the kids take the pumpkin guts out. We made an angry face on the pumpkin. It was so cute how Brayden was telling me how to carve it as he saw it in preschool. He was all telling me how mommy and daddy and grandma and grandpa can only use the knife. Brayden was even wanting to eat the seeds like NOW. He even put one of the slimy ones in his mouth and quickly spit them out. Lyndee Lou was fascinated with the texture of the seeds and goop. She was mesmerized by it all. Here are the kids and Clay posing with our creations.

Cookie Making

Image
I almost forgot to do the Halloween cookies this year! Whoops! Anyways, I invited my nephew over on Sunday and we were a-bakin'. They were so great on cutting out cookies but when it came to the frosting...I frosted them while they worked up an appetite by jumping on the trampoline outside. They turned out great even if I did not have any Halloween sprinkles. I don't know why there is not any pictures of the finished versions. (Maybe because they are in the bellies of the whole family)

Brayden's 5th birthday

Image
My son turns 5 on Wednesday.(Sniff...Sniff) We celebrated his birthday this past Saturday. We did not invite alot of boys because well....we do not know alot of people yet. Grant it we have a million people in our ward. In his primary class, there are only 2 boys and the rest are girls. The boys that are in his class do not go enough for Brayden to get to know them. We still had lots of fun by playing pin the nose on the pumpkin, making monster masks, and eating spider cupcakes. The kids had lots of fun. Side note: I do not know if I like the stress of planning a party and cleaning my house. Next year, we are just doing family. Then after that...who knows? (maybe a sleepover of a couple friends).

Little Shirley Temple Hair

Image
We love our little Lyndee. She has such a unique personality that of course we try to adore. She hates to sit still, she is always on the go. She however, will let me do her hair. When Clay and I were first married and lived in the apts in Gilbert, there was a family in our ward that had a cute little girl with blonde hair. The mom would curl her hair always for church. I figured that I would give it try for this past Sunday. It turned out fine and it reminded me a Shirley Temple's hair (when she was young not old). It did not last long but she was sure a cutie.

My Boy's Haircut

Image
I attempted for the second time to cut/shave my boy's hair this last Saturday. I was able to shave the sides okay enough but they were uneven. I could not find my blending attachment so he looked like a mushroom. My bro and sis in law said it looked horrible. I thought it looked good and so did another person (his daycare provider)Since his bday is this Sat., I think he might want to look good. SO....Great Clips here we come! hee hee! P.S. This picture is of course after his haircut (not by ME)

Peanuts Christmas

My little man insisted on watching the Peanuts Christmas. At the end of the movie, they were singing Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. It totally brought me back to 1st ward in Eagar, AZ. I was not a member of the LDS church yet but I went on the Young Women activities with my best bud, Bobbie. I especially loved the combined activities because we were alittle boy crazy (okay, alot). Anyways, we went Christmas caroling on a back of semi-trailer sitting on hay bales freezing our bums off throughout our ward. It was the best! I really loved going out and singing Christmas carols down the street. Even though I was investigating the church, activities like that made me feel without a doubt the holy spirit. I always try to recapture the way I felt when I first investigated the church. That is when I felt most intuned with the Lord and the spirit. I have yet to do that here in Idaho. But I am trying....

Oh, the weather outside is FrigHtFul and white.

Lyndee was so excited to see big snowflakes. Did you see the huge flake that Clay is trying to catch? We are having the first snow of the season. I am so excited! Really I am. I know it is crazy but I love fall and winter. I admit that I hate driving on the stuff. We did get sick of it when it snowed in June. Good news though it should be 67 degrees next Saturday.

For Kicks and Giggles

Any of you remember the 80's? No, this is not me or anyone in my familia. We witnessed this flashback to the 80's in Shelley at the Spud Day Parade. However.....I will admit that in high school I did have hair wings my sophmore year. My bangs went pretty high, too. Some used to say, "your hair looks like it ran into a brick wall." I used so much hair spray. I know I helped create that hole in the ozone layer.
