Get me some strawberry sessert, please!

Image
When it was our last day of school, our principal grilled the faculty some steaks and we brought in the sides. I was looking for something easy and boy did I find it! Here is the original post from pinterest. It is versatile because you don't have to do strawberries. I actually tried it with mixed berries. It was super yummy except for the blackberries. They were kind of gross. So I tried all strawberries, it was yummy. My kids ate it up. I want to try raspberries next because I love raspberries. Strawberry Sessert (aka dessert/salad) 2 {3 oz. each} boxes strawberry jello  (I didn't use the sugar free stuff but if you do and it's great. let me know) 2 {3 oz. each} boxes instant vanilla pudding  2 {10 oz. each} packages frozen strawberries 4 cups hot water 1 small container whipped topping (I used lite whipped topping because that's how I roll) 1. Put all ingredients except the whipped topping in a large pot.  Stir it up and bring just to a boil.

Swim time at our house

We bought this beauty when we got back from our Boise trip. We did all by ourselves too. However, it is not level in one part so we are going to have to drain it and move it over a little. This pool is occupied by the kids and they absolutely love it. We have had some neighborhood kids over and they have enjoyed it too. For our family home evening activity on Monday, we all went into the pool. The best part about it is floating on the top on the tubes. So relaxing! I hope the pool survives more than a couple weeks/months.

Kung Pao Chicken

Image
So last week, I craved Chinese food. I love Chinese food. I wished that my family loved it as much as I do. They will have to just learn to love it. I saw this recipe for Kung Pao from this website . It is supposed to be a copycat recipe for the California Pizza Kitchen. I don't if it is or not. It was super yummy. Here is the recipe that I modified to fit my family. Ingredients 1 pound spaghetti ( I used about 3/4 of a package.) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 3 boneless, skinless thin-sliced chicken breasts Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts 2 green onions, thinly sliced For the sauce 2/3 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup chicken broth 1/2 cup dry sherry (If you need to borrow it, I have some.) 2 tablespoons red chili paste with garlic, or more, to taste (We used 1 Tablespoon but I would cut it down to 2 teaspoons. (If you need to borrow it, I have some.)) 1/4 cup sugar 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Yikes! Superhero day and he is getting older.

Our field day at our school was superhero themed. I made Lyndee, Brayden, and me a cape. Lyndee and I matched. We had black and gold tutus and a gold cape. Brayden's cape was red with a superman logo on the back. Sorry, I don't have a picture. His was a last minute one. It looked good though.    Brayden wanted to see if he could mow the grass. He is still a little light on the weight of the seat of the lawnmower but he was to figure it out and mow the whole side yard. He looks so grown up in the picture above. Yikes!
