1st day of preschool

Image
Lyndee's first day of preschool was this week. She is going out to my school for it twice a week on the little yellow bus. She did quite well for her first week. I was actually surprised because she walked with her class in. I really have not seen her walk nice unless I prod her at church to walk reverently and fold her arms. I went during my recesses to go and check on her and see if she was "on task" and behaving. I think she works really well with small groups and total structure. Love it!

Random pics taken by son

In a moment of unsupervised fun down in our basement family room, Brayden hijacked my camera and took random pictures. They were not too bad. I did not even know about these until he told me days later. Take #1 His dog, Trixie Take #2: Stairs going up or down? Take #3: Cousin T and Sister Lyndee Lou Take #4: Stairs, again!

L. Tiger is in the house

Lyndee is such a funny little piece of sunshine in our lives. We love the spirit she brings into our home even if sometimes it is a crazy spirit. When I was talking with a person that is giving Lyndee some tests, she asked if Lyndee went by L. Tiger. She would ask Lyn what her name is. Lyndee would reply, "L. Tiger". At the dinner table last night, I said, "Lyndee, what is your name." She replies, "L. Tiger". I asked her about 10 more times. Same response. I was concerned because we never call her that. I said my name is Angie, this is Clayton, and you are? L. tiger was her response again. We told her that her name was Lyndee. She then says that she Likes tigers. I guess that is where she gets L. Tiger from. Very cute. She now knows her name as we've been quizzing. Thank goodness.

Baked Oatmeal Pie (recipe included, I promise)

Image
Well, I put the address below for the baked oatmeal pie. I just adore one of the ladies that I work with at my school. She shared this recipe on her facebook. So.... I am stealing it and trying it out. She said that she eats it morning, noon, and night. Here is the website for it: http://www.bbonline.com/recipe/thebarn_oh_recipe1.html Note: I did use chunky applesauce and I really think some cinnamon or nutmeg would be a good addition. The possibilities are endless. Tell me what you think if you try it! I also put it in a pie plate.

Thinking of you card

Image
Tomorrow for our card exchange, I will be exchanging this card with other ladies in our ward. I had a hard time with this one. I have been really down in the dumps and not motivated. Stupid winter blues! Anyways, I bought a whole bunch of green paper and green stuff to match. Then last night I decided to sit down and design my card. I actually like it and hope everyone will as well.

Way to Zipper

Don't we just love the small accomplishments in our young little ones. Yep, that is right! Brayden can officially zipper his own coat. He is ready for kindergarten!

My little addiction

We all have our little addictions, right? Some are more obsessive than others. Here is mine! I have been teaching for the last 8 years and for about 7 of those years. I always drank a coke in the morning before I could even function. I was calmer, happier, and had more patience if I was pumped up with a coke. So last APRIL, I gave it up. I figured I could lose a couple pounds, think clearer, and have more control. NOT! I did lose a couple pounds but the rest is foggy:) I had a coke this morning for ole time's sake to clear the fog that has been plaguing my mind. Here is a list of what I accomplished before lunch today. 0. Able to work on the yearbook for the school (I have to do the whole layout and all that jazz) 1. Reading 2. Grammar 3. Phonics 4. Writing 5. Math 6. Spelling 7. Patience with students Usually on a given day THIS school year, I only get 1,5, 6, and partially 7 finished. I figure that I do not want to head down the same old 7 year path of having a coke every mornin

Silly Kids

While I was in my craft room, the kids grabbed some square Christmas stockings that were given to them last year by their Grandma. Brayden started putting it on his head. Then Lyndee soon followed. What a bunch of monkeys!
