Sledding Saturday

Image
Sledding in June, you say? Sand sledding! Last Saturday, we took the kids to the sand dunes up by St. Anthony. They had fun. They just sledding down a couple hills and then we called it a day. Even husband tried it, however, he sank...if the sand was a smidge harder it would have been a blast. He didnt even his weight out good enough. Before we left, the kids had to make sand angels. They had one last run! We couldn't keep up with them.

Hijacked Camera

Image
This was taken whilst I was outside mowing the lawn. That tells me that I NEED hide my camera and get one for him for his birthday or Christmas. What a comedian!

New Soccer Uni

This is his new soccer uniform. His first game will be next week. Yay! I wished it started sooner. We will be booked for the next 2 months. .

Yard fun

Image
I knew I had to get something to cool the kids off this summer. We threw the other one from last summer away. It was a cool pirate boat but kind of lame. I was cleaning the house on Tuesday when I came outside to see some boys including son filling up our empty garbage can with water that we use to cover our sprinker system during the winter. I thought to myself...too dangerous...and...1. I need to get a little pool fast. 2. I better watch the kids better at my house. Good thing my front porch has comfy chairs and shade. I bought a slip n slide to go with the water pool fun. Kind of hard to believe that the age on that little pool is 6 years and up. My little darlin's idea of jumping in the pool here is slowing getting over each side and then splash around What a girly girl! Ya..she never lasts long.

Father's Day Lunch

Image
We took Daddy-O out for lunch at Famous Dave's BBQ. We had a nice lunch. Kids were well-behaved.  Looks like I put the death grip on sister here. She has a hard time with eye contact during a picture. But here she is...My little sweetheart.

Short trip to Ogden

Image
Last weekend, we went down to Utah for our soon to be new nephew's birthday party. We liked the chance to get out of town for a day or so and be in a bigger city. We were so ready to leave and head back to wide open spaces by the end. This is a view from the downtown Marriot where we stayed the night. The kids had so much much fun at the pool. I wanted to get them used to a pool before they start their swimming lessons at Green Canyon in three weeks. They loved it. Son was cannonballing at the end and did not want to leave. Daughter was enjoying the hot tub. I thought the theme was Medieval...but when we got home and the invitation was in the mail. I think it was a Chronicles of Narnia theme. Anyways, the kids had lots of fun. There were stars hanging around the trees which my girl loved to hit with the noodle. The kids beat the heck out of a dragon shaped pinata. Who doesn't love a pinata? Then the kids took turns riding around on the 4-wheeler. Son loved it but daughter w

Chili Lime Kabobs.

Image
We tried our hand duirng the best time of the year at grilling. These are chili lime kabobs. I put red onions, red peppers, green peppers, and yellow squash in between the little pieces of chicken. The only thing I would do next time is make more marinade so I can lather them with it while they are cooking. We also cooked them on the top part of the grill. They were delicioso. Here is the link to the recipe .

Father's Day FHE

Image
I found this cute idea for a father's day present for hubby. I gave it to him today instead of Sunday. I was just so excited to make it and see if I could do a good job.  I did not spray pain my box nor did I use eyelets or chipboard circles. I made it my own....I put peanuts, cashews, peanut mm's, regular mm's, hot tamales, and some jelly belly jelly beans. Husband loved it because he likes to snack. To see a prettier version, here is the link.

Oh ya..Got my hair trimmed and dyed..

Hello there, gorgeous! Can't you tell that I am in deep thought?

FHE service

Image
Last Monday, I wanted to give my kids an opportunity to feel the spirit of service. I talked about how Jesus showed service and gave them some examples during family home evening. Then with some of the bread that I baked earlier, we grabbed some freezer jam and the kids delivered them to some neighbors. The kids were so excited to do this and my son informed me that this is number five of feeling the Spirit. That makes me a happy mama. They were posing after showing me where they felt the Spirit..How sweet is that!

Update on bird's nest in our front tree

Image
This was last night. All but one had hatched. The black part is their eyes. Weird looking huh? This was tonight. All have hatched. You can see their beaks and their eyes!

Rigby Stampede Parade

Image
We went to the parade. Can you believe that this is the only picture that I took? Not even one of the kids. Oh..well! We were there. It was chilly but no rain. The kids enjoyed getting candy from all the people and husband enjoyed eating it. We hade a nice time there!

What a freaky night!

Image
During the summer and weekends, I let my son sleep wherever he wants..the couch, the floor, down in the basement on the summertime bed, or in his own bed. Sometimes, we also sleep downstairs as it is cooler down there as well. On Wednesday night, he slept downstairs on the couch. It the middle of the night around 3:30, he comes up to me and tells me that the T.V is on. That is kind of crazy, I thought. Half asleep, I looked downstairs and sure enough the T.V. was on. I had him use the restroom. When we reached the bottom of the stairs, the T.V was off. I tucked him back in and went back upstairs. I was lying there in bed and I started imagining some creep downstairs. So I was so freaked out that I went back and got him and had him sleep in our bed the whole night. He and husband slept soundly...Me..not so much... Husband and I could not figure out how it turned on as the remote was on the end table and the timer was off as well.

Boxed in

Image
We bought some barstools to go to our bar last weekend and the kids..well...they got a nice big box to play in, It is amazing how something so simple can turn into a clubhouse or just to hide in. Yesterday, it kept 2 boys occupied all afternoon. On Sunday, the kids wanted me to close it up with them in it. I banged on it and tipped it from side to side. It was such fun for them. Hearing their giggles were heaven to me. Then they wanted me to get in so I eagerly obliged. I was in. The kids closed the top. They banged and I banged back. Then one sat on the top and it was all quiet. I was consumed with darkness with no air. Panic started to instill in my brain and body. Then my inner claustophobia washed over me, I screamed for them to let me out or open it up. They did not hear my pleas. I finally broke free from the box through the side. Husband comes up the stairs just as I broke free from the box asking what was going on and trying hard to suppress his own inner demon giggles.  Ya.

New bedding to me

Image
My mom and dad had a queen size bed and then they decided to get a king size bed. Me, I like a queen size bed so I begged for the awesome burgundy bedding that she had. I even got new curtains thrown in as well. Last week, we purchased the burgundy shears to fill in where we didn't have enough curtains. We like it. It makes the room darker at night as well. It looks better in person.

Cute toddler pic of son

What a cutie patootie! This was the weekend that we picked up sister from the crisis center to adopt and lived happily ever after. He was 18 mos. at this time.
