Isn't he just cute?

Image
This was at our  pack meeting last Thursday. The boys enjoyed a disability awareness activity by getting into pairs. Each had to put their one hand behind their back. They had to make a lunch together. They helped each other make a sandwich and put chips and two cookies in a baggie. It worked as a treat too because they enjoyed eating it together as well. He received his instant recognition beads and the scouter month patch.

Dentist trip fiasco

Image
Lyndee had a cavity filled and got sealants on her teeth on Monday. This is a result of that. She had a shot in her lip to numb. Then after her appt. It started getting bigger and bigger. She was told to not suck or bite her lip while it was numb.Well, she didn't listen. This is a day after. I did take her to the dentist and to a doctor. It was not infected. However the doctor prescribed some bacterial ointment. It is getting better but still pretty scary.    Side note: I put some orajel type stuff on her lip and it angered it some more.

Dentist appt #2

Image
A few days after our cleanings, Brayden's face swelled up. We knew that he either had to have a root canal or a tooth pulled. Too bad it was the latter. That tooth was bigger than my wisdom teeth. He was so brave. Screamed alot. Cried for about an hour after the appt. as well. It was not a good day in our house. Since then, we have gone two more times for fillings and sealants. Next appt is for a spacer. Good thing that I have sick time built up. Glad that he does not totally hate the dentist. By the way, that night the tooth fairy paid big..real big.

Best Cookie Recipe Ever! REALLY!

Image
When I was working at First Interstate Bank (long time ago, huh) before married days, an old grandma type worked alongside my sister in law and I. She brought the most awesome cookies in ever (these cookies and snickerdoodles) . I was super nice to her and she gave me both recipes.  Now this cookie recipe is probably floating around on the web. These cookies have brought us joy and of course other people joy when we give them some. These cookies are made for sharin'. They will not embarrass your cookie skills.  People will praise you and think you are the BEST baker ever! This recipe puts the Tollhouse cookie recipe to the hall of shame. Enough of bragging, let's get to it! (this is what they look like after they have been baked) Notice their friends, the rolls! Family is eatin' good tonight! After we let them cool, we lock them away in a tupperware like dish to keep soft.   Here it is, aaaaahhhh!(P.S. Don't skimp on the pudding...) 2 and 1/4 cups flour 1 tsp bakin

Husband birthday.

Happy birthday, husband....(a week ago) Homemade chocolate cake with pudding and chocolate chips....I didn't make the frosting. Ham and swiss rolls with a poppyseed drizzle. Yum! We had  a nice day off last Friday. We the kids stay home from school with us and we took them to the movie called Rango. Not a fan of the movie as it was too inappropriate at times in the movie.

Haircut Day

Image
Lyndee and I both had our haircuts last week. I love getting my hair dyed and highlighted. I have not had my hair cut since August. I usually never go that long but...it was getting pretty hairy. Lyndee got about 4 inches cut off to where her hair is just over her shoulders. So here we are..

First Bloom

Image
My Christmas cactus finally bloomed last week. It has had little flower buds on it before but it never bloomed like this. Maybe it's because it is out of reach of some certain children.

Best Lazy Roll Recipe EVER

Image
Anything that can be done by itself in the bread machine. I am all for it. These rolls are really yummy. They yielded us 12 rolls, but they are big ones. Now, this awesome roll would be the best EVER with homemade strawberry freezer jam. It is too bad that I am out. I just might make some huckleberry raspberry freezer jam . However, Spring is sometimes in the air and so will be the sale of strawberry flats soon. I just know. But for now..enjoy these rolls with butter or whatever you have. Bread Machine Buttery Rolls 1 cup warm milk (70-80 degrees) 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon salt 4 cups flour (I used half fresh-ground whole-wheat and half  white flour OR all white flour.) 2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast Add ingredients in the order list to your bread machine. Run on dough cycle. When dough is complete, divide into 20-24 portions and shape into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. (YA, right..try about 20-
