Cave Falls Picnic

Image
On Saturday, we headed north to Cave Falls to have a picnic. You are supposed to be able to go into the cave next to the falls but it was caved in. Too bad. So we enjoyed the view from where we could be at.  The sign above just scared me. We made sure that our kids were plenty noisy. It wasn't too hard. We took the trail north of the river so we could walk above the river overlooking it as we headed to the falls.  It was a little scary for the kids and me. I made sure that they were close to me.  The falls are 250 feet wide and 20 feet in height. Pretty cool! Ain't this purty? We did stop to get our picture taken in the fields of yellow daisy like flowers. We had a good day.

Father's Day Drive

Image
The Thursday before Father's Day, I got real sick with the flu and it was passed down to Brayden on Saturday. By Sunday, we were getting cabin fever and decided to drive up to Swan Valley. We took our shih tzu, Molly and left. It was nice and relaxing to get out of the house. We stopped for some square ice cream. It ain't all that. I wished it was Reed's Dairy ice cream instead of Farr's. The kids loved theirs. On the way back, we stopped off the side of the road and snapped a picture of us in the car.  It is sooo green up in Swan Valley. I would love to have a summer cabin there. It is so pretty. The pictures below are at the rest stop between Swan Valley and Ririe turn off. We loved the view of the Snake River. Aren't they a cute bunch? Brayden has grown too much and Lyndee is following right behind them. We had a really good Father's Day. When we got home, we grilled steak and enjoyed the rest of the day together with no

Swimming Lessons

Image
Greetings from Apple Athletics! I actually signed the kids up for swimming lesson and bit the money bullet. I can tell it was worth the money and time to travel to Idaho Falls. The kids loved them and really enjoyed that Brayden was swimming. Lyndee needs to go to a higher group. I kept her in the group she was so she could get the basics again. I am thinking about the swim club but at a cheaper place. :)

Yes, I sewed something!

My goal for the summer is to do a pinterest project every week. I want to do projects that I can actually do and not be a waste of time. This was my project last week. I was inspired from this blog . I decided to do a project at my mom's house in Meridian while I was there. This is what I did mostly on Monday when I was hanging out doing nothing. It was almost super easy. It said that it took about 30 minutes to do. If I did not stop and start, it would have taken me probably 45 minutes to an hour. But I kind of spaced out and was sidetracked in Meridian. I am now making another one red flowered one but on gold/yellowish fabric. It is not perfect and I can see where I made mistakes...but it is the first time that I have sewed something in a very long time. Next week: I am making something functional for the whole family and I think I am going to tie it into a family home evening lesson if I can get my act together.  Ha!

June Visit to Grandma's (my mom and dad's)

Image
So this year, I decided to do something totally not me. I took the kids to my mom's and left the husband behind. Usually he leaves me behind and goes and visits his mother. I hate traveling from home. I really get homesick and I like my home. So we left on Sunday after I taught Sunday school lesson on stories that talk about the priesthood. The kids, Molly the dog, and I left for Meridian.  This is Molly in the front seat on the way over. The kids are in the back. They did such a good job. We took the highway and stopped at the Craters of the Moon, Carey, and a rest stop. Then they slept the rest of the way until we were at Grandma's.  On Monday, we just hung around and went to Hobby Lobby, Kohl's and some other place. It was nice to just veg and get taken care of by my mommy.  On Tuesday, this is a total must. We went to the Discovery Center. The kids did a whole bunch of hands on stuff with science. The kids loved to stand in front of the green screen. This remi

May was a blur

In May, Lyndee was able to compete with her clogging team at Lagoon. They did two songs: Lions Sleeps Tonight and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. I am so proud of her. They took first place. They took grand champion in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. They played at Lagoon. The kids have never been to an amusement park and I am glad. Because they can now go on all the rides that are too scary for me by themselves. That is a perfect plan. They went on Wicked and Colossus. Phew! I would have pooped my pants going on. I have too much anxiety as it is. I loved the water rides even if we did get super soaked on the rapid ride. Just loved looking like a wet dog for the rest of the day. It was a fun family trip. Our next trip is in July. We are going to Silverwood Theme Park up in Coeur d Alene. We are getting super excited for this trip. I am excited because we are going places that we both have never been before. :) Our Lagoon trip was over Mother's Day weekend. On the way back home, we had a
