Lyndee turns 4

Image
I am 4 today! Yippee! One! Two! Three! Good job, Lyndee Today was Lyndee's 4th birthday. I can't believe how much she has grown. She is such a special little girl. All day she kept telling us that she was 5 today. She was so excited to eat her cake. Clay went and got some balloons to add a little flair to our family birthday party for her. When she was unwrapping her presents, her aunt put a receipt in her card in case she did not like it. Lyndee kept saying I got 20 dollars and held the receipt up. I thought, "Wow, we should not have got her anything and just put an old receipt in a card to entertain her!" Of course, she had help from her cousin and brother unwrapping the presents.

Sorry this is my lazy way of posting pics of the kids unwrapping their presents. The night before Brayden made sure the reindeer had food outside waiting for them. He was so excited. Then he made sure Santa had cookies (we made them..see post below)and milk. Then it toooook himmm foreevver to fall asleep as he was so excited. Funny story...like a dork I shoved all of their presents in my closet on the floor with a couple unwrapped from Santa. When I was doing my hair, they got into it. They never go into my closet because the door sticks. So...Brayden comes to me with one of his presents and Lyndee took hers and hid with them under her bed to check them out. My mom put both of them in time out as I was upset with my stupidity. I then removed all presents and put them in the unfinished part of the basement in a corner. When Brayd got out of time out, he went and checked out the closet. He did not mention it at all. He did not know what to think of it until Christmas morning. I did wrap

Christmas Eve Cookies

Image
I made some aprons out of tea towels for my kids and my nephew. Then I let them open them on Christmas Eve so they could help make sugar cookies for Santa. I warn that I am not a professional sewing person. Lyndee's is too big and Brayden's is too long. But they will grow into them. I do not know if this will be a tradition to do on Christmas Eve but it was sure fun and delicious. Thank you, Keisha for bringing us the mix. They were sure a hit.

Let it snow but not blow!

The snow that was in front yard is now on our front steps. Say, "I love shoveling, darn it" "Ruff! Ruff! Please unbury me. Must see to guard the house. (Can't you tell that I am a concrete dog with a basket in my mouth.) The snow that was in our front yard piled in the front of our house. Yippee! I do heart the snow. The fact that I am not working makes me love it more. Now in 2 weeks, I will be not liking it. Shh! I do like shoveling too. What a great workout for my flubber!

Hallelujah! We stayed the whole time!

Hallelujah! We have lift off! We were able to stay the whole time for church without a meltdown from me or the kids! Yeah! What also is wonderful is the fact that we stayed for the whole Christmas program. We haven't been able to do that since pre-kid days. Even Lyndee Lou went up with the primary to sing their song! Great job even if you were hanging over the edge about fall over!

Pulling together

Today was another Sunday and another struggle for our little fam. We were reluctant to go because of the weather and exhaustion. My son did not want to go to church and that really upset me. We were having a real rough morning of screaming and stomping. Ever experience that? I am sure I am not alone. Anyways, I felt as we were being pulled to church for some reason. (Maybe for us to hear that we need to be praying as family, reading scriptures, and attending the temple). After a screaming trip to the church, I put Lyndee in her class bribing her with a piece of gum. Giving Brayden extra loves, retying his shoes, and bribing him with gum helped him get to his class. May I say how I dislike sacrament last? I was sitting in Relief Society and the sister teaching the lesson calls on me to read out of the blue. She awoke me from my deep thoughts of my bad morning and this is part of what I read... ...........This was one of many times when the Saints would pull together, heeding the admonit

Rough beginning this week

Monday did not start too well for me. Everything was going great. I was teaching my students about verbs and I got "the" call. Lyndee is throwing up at her day care provider. I felt so bad for the poor thing thinking in the back of my mind I should not have given her the strawberry milk. I was happy that I was able to get a sub and go home to tend my lovelies. When we got home and after her long bath, I told Lyndee that this bowl is her new best friend. Never part from it. My son came home as well. He was okay with missing preschool that day. (Any chance to lounge around in pj's all day with mom and sis.)

Ramblings

Today was such a frustrating day in sacrament. We were rushing out the door and I forgot the bag of goodies. Ya know...the books, crayons, coloring pages, lacing up cards. We made it only to the passing of the sacrament. They and (my patience) got the best of me and we left. Sometimes I wonder why we even bother going..Then on the way to school Brayden tells me all about the birth of Jesus Christ or how he was baptized. This makes me feel so proud of him inside that those frustrating days become a distant memory.

Just some pics of some decorations
