Brayden turns 10 birthday cake

Image
My awesome son turns 10 on Tuesday. I can't believe how fast time is flying. Soon he will get the priesthood and then serve a mission. It is amazing how much things change over the years. His tastes are changing and so is his attitude. Some days it is good and some days it is bad. I am so lucky to be his mom. We had Uncle Eric, Aunt Erica, and Tyler over for a birthday dinner. My cake maker friend made his cool cake. We enjoyed our company and had a good evening. Next weekend, he wants to take a couple friends from the ward to Blast Off. I am so glad for good friends and a great area we get to raise our kids in.

Halloween carnival

I saw this contraption sort of thing on the internet a couple years ago. So I decided to make one for me. We have a Halloween carnival at our school every year. The tickets that kids use for the games go to money for our room. So I needed a moneymaker!  I bought a board (Yes, I paid 16 dollars for it). I bought the good quality one because I did not want to buy the whole 8 foot by 8 foot panel. My brother cut two holes in the board where the nose is. I spray painted it black. Not sure why. I was just going to do a nose. Stupid me! Then I made the nose with balloons and several layers of paper mache. It took about a week to make. Then after it was dry. I realized that it would look cool with a face so I sprayed it a brown skin color. Painted the eyes and mouth on it.  I didn't have time to put green hair on it. Then I cut two nostril holes under the nose. You can't see it.  The kids are supposed to put a hand up thru a nostril and the board to a bucket of slime or

Brayden's Last 4th grade football game

Image
Living here in Rigby feels so weird. I miss Round Valley spirit and all that jazz. But when it was Brayden's last football game, I felt that RV spirit. The kids came out of that tube thingy holding hands like the varsity team has done before each game this past season. They have only lost one game!  Brayden's team played Sandcreek the only team that they lost to during the whole season. We ended up losing. It was a hard game. The other team ran plays better and was super fast. It is okay in the long run. It gave them life experiences and they had fun. I know Brayden did. More fun that I had. :)

Straw Maze north of Rexburg

Yesterday was a fabulous day. There was no football game. My sis in law, Erica and I went to Real Deals. Then we had super Saturday. Then later that even, we went to the straw maze. We were going to go to the Rigby corn maze but it looked kind of sad. We all went and had a great time. Next year, we need to do the haunted stuff. :) The kids will be older and will be able to handle it. :)

Saturday Drive

Image
Last weekend, we drove up Kelly Canyon to see the fall colors. It was beautiful. I was wearing my sunglasses. It was all so pretty and the colors popped. So I thought I would take a picture covering the lens with my sunglasses. This was the result. You can kind of see the lens on the picture below. But the next one, you can't...  These pictures overlook the Snake River which dumps into the Columbia River and then goes out to the Pacific Ocean.  I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful place and have opportunities to take my children up to see these places as well.

Football team

September and October have been consumed by football, school, and some more football. Brayden had practice three times a week lasting 2 hours. Then his games have been every Saturday since the end of August. We are coming to an end. His semi final game is Monday and then the final game is on Wednesday. I am excited for him and I hope they make it all the way until Wednesday. He had a great time and that is all that matters. :)
