Holy Ghost

Image
Cute thing as we were leaving church yesterday... When we got in the van to go home from church, my little man announced to us that he felt the Holy Ghost while he was singing primary songs in primary. I thought that was so touching. I am glad that his 6 year old body could recognize the spirit. Hopefully, he will continue to do things that will bring the spirit to his life.

2nd tooth lost!

Image
Brother has had a loose tooth for awhile. At his daycare place, his friend had a loose tooth too and he punched his own out. So brother decided to rip his out. Yay, we actually have his tooth. We just watched The Tooth Fairy movie last week and again tonight. At bedtime time, he told us that he was going to pack up his stuff so he could hitch a ride to tooth fairy world. He informed us that he was going to catch the tooth fairy and bring it down. Crazy boy! This picture really captures his hilarious nature. He can be such a goofball! We sure love him!

Rockin' robin, tweet..

Image
We have our first nest. We only have two trees. We can see it from our front room. Every morning, there is a robin instead preparing it for her young. We were so excited to see the next. Husband gave the kids a turn to take a peek inside. Nothing there yet..Notice the blue things hanging from the nest. Good old Walmart  worn out trampoline circle pad.

Poor doggie!

Image
Sister Lou figured out that you can tuck things in the dogs' collars and voila! you have things hanging from the dogs. Poor kringle..He hides from Sister Lou alot. Ya, he is not liking this moment. She loves the dogs. Sometimes, maybe too much. We have to watch her around them. A couple times, she entices them into her room with food and then closes the door. Who knows what she does with them? I try to rescue them immediately. If I am too late, who knows one might come out in a tutu?

Fun in some sun we had in May

Image
I think we had 70s in the first part of May. The kids broke out their swimsuits and ran through the sprinklers. Sister Lou, however, broke out in horrible rash on her arms and legs...Yay for Benadryl! It was gone by mornin'.

3 years! I can't believe it!

Image
This was our house 3 years ago when we bought it. We still love our house! I can't believe that we have lived in this community and house for 3 years. I remember my dad saying that we would not last here and be back in Arizona. Well, we have no plans to leave as of now. We have enjoyed our little life here raising the kids. I can't say it has been a fabulous time or a rotten time. I have made some friends in my ward and at work. I enjoy my life and I am content at times. However, I still feel like my life is missing something. Who knows it could be just around the corner? Whatever it is...

Flip Flopped

Image
I was needing a change in our home. So I flip flopped the furniture in my sitting room with the furniture in my family room that is attached to our kitchen and dining area. I had to change the wall decorations as well plus the curtains. Son thought it looked awesome in the front room and decided that would be his new room and proceeded to sleep on the couch that night and I let him. It was a weekend night after all. One of the main reasons for the change is because the afternoon sun was fading my red checkered furniture. I figured that the morning son would be okay since I have a tree in front of the window that diffuses the sunlight...And I love my leather couch so it is only fitting that I can relax on it while watching T.V or surfing the net...And..it is the most comfortable thing ever. I actually nicknamed it, "my nap couch." The bean bag looking thing? You ask why there? Sunday morning, son is sitting on the couch and gets real mean and tells sister that she can't

Happy Mother's Day

Image
Okay, for this day, I took it easy. I did not have to make breakfast because the husband and kids pitched in and made pancakes and eggs. Breakfast in bed is not for me. Why bother with it? We skipped church because I really am not fan of all the mother's day hype at church. I am grateful to be a mom to these awesome kids but I just hate it. So I vegged on the couch all day while the husband and kids were down in the basement family room playing the Wii. I was able to catch up on about 3 DVR'd shows..Yea!. It was soo relaxing. I already had dinner planned for this day because I forgot it was mother's day. Husband kicked it into high gear and made chocolate cake with a raspberry sauce. We did not have a strainer to strain the seeds and such so we ate it all up with the chocolate cake. The kids scarfed it down and we savored it.

Our little cuatro de mayo

Image
Okay..I couldn't resist shooting whipped cream in their mouths. They thought it was funny! SO did I. On Tuesday, we had our cinco de mayo dinner. Tacos with beans, spanish rice, and avocado/peach smoothies. The kids and husband loved them. It had a whole avocado in it, coconut milk, banana, frozen peaches, and some water. I should have thrown some ice in it as well.

Tuna Wraps!

Image
3  5 oz can solid white tuna in water (drained) (I used albacore tuna...yumm) 1/2 c onions(diced) (I used the purple onions...sweet vidalia would be divine) 4 hard boiled eggs (diced) 6 tbsp real mayo (I used lowfat) 1/2 c Celery (diced) 2 Golden delicious apple (diced) (I used just one because I got distracted and didnt realize that I forgot the other...still good) Romaine lettuce (I just bought a bag of romaine lettuce) Tortillas, rolls, bread...or even pita bread. Directions: Mix together all ingredients minus lettuce & tortillas. Place lettuce on the tortilla, top with tuna salad mixture and  then fold like a burrito. Slice in half and devour. I got this recipe from http://www.sparkpeople.com/ . It was really delicious. Everyone even my son enjoyed it. My daughter...well....she is finicky anyways but she atleast ate a couple bites and did not gag. We even have leftovers. It made 4 wraps and then probably about 2-3 more can be made but we will eat them sometime.
