new couches for the basement

Image
We bought new furniture before Christmas for our basement. We treated ourselves to reclining couches. Each person has a spot in our family. It is super comfy when we are watching movies. It is not like anyone will be coming over to visit us but it is just fine for us. They are beige. I totally fell in love with the rug. We found them at furniture row. Also on a good note, I hired a person to help clean my house. Working full time and working another job is taking a toll on me and the house.  It was deep cleaned on Friday and it was great.

Lyndee's Birthday...somebody went ahead and turned one year older and wiser too.

Lyndee turned nine...my baby. She will be double digiter next year. I am so sad. She is the best daughter anyone could ever want. She gives me hugs many times a day. She is super sweet. She loves her animals especially the cat. There are so many things that make her so special and I am so thankful that she is mine. Her goal for FHE is that she helps me more around the house. Ah! That was just super sweet. Anyone is lucky to have her as a friend and if they don't..it is their loss.  Her grandma made her this beautiful heirloom quilt of the colors that she liked. I have it put away until she is older. It is very beautiful. I will take a picture of it when I can get a chance. So I made my own version of birthday pancakes. I just added sprinkles to them as they were cooking on the grill. Then I let the kids have whipped cream. They loved it. Happy birthday.

Highlights of December, part 2

We took a little Friday and Saturday trip to Salt Lake. Our goal was to see the lights but we were too tired and Clay had to teach his class the next day. So...we went to temple square the next morning and then went shopping. We dropped off the presents to my mother in law's and aunt's house and then went home.

December Highlights, again

Yes, we had two trees. It was my intention to have all of the Christmas crap under one tree but I was voted down. One present was too heavy to heave downstairs. Christmas was a great time. My parents came and spend a couple days with us. I got a small cold but it was quickly doused out my essential oils. The kids had a great time as well playing with their presents. One thing they loved is getting their own little tablet from my parents. It was a great buy and they have taken care of them so far.   The cat was a little freaked out by all this craziness. :)  Christmas dinner table set. Eric, Erica, and Tyler came over for dinner as well. It was a delicious ham dinner with yummy scalloped potatoes. Then I made a pistachio pudding dessert. It was all good.   Yup there is more down here. I received this cute picture from a friend. It goes along with the Forgotten Carols song, "Mary Let Me Hold her Baby." It was nice to receive a gift that wasn't food

Highlights of our lives, Part 1

We bought Lyndee a new dress. She looks so cute in it. I think she grew an inch right after I bought because I feel so looks so big in it.  I put vinyl sayings on plates for my sis in law to put treats on for her neighbors. I did the same for some of mine. In all, I did about 12 plates or so. They are too time consuming and took me several hours to peel and stick the vinyl. The hard part was cutting it with my cricut. I didn't take a picture of my plates. They rocked because they were a silvery blue.  I actually bought a gingerbread cottage community. Next year, I am going to buy the huge gingerbread houses for each of them. It was so hard getting my big sausages to grip an itty bitty piece of candy to put on my house.  Yes, we are on the way out the door to non believers of Santa which scares me. This year, we invited an elf to live with us. It was an unusual experience. It would do naughty things or just sit there staring at me and creeping me out. One day while I was

Anxiety filled for the last THREE months

Image
I have been super busy with life. I just started my new BYUI class. I have been busy with my day job and keeping everything kept up with grading, planning, and discipline. I do like most of my students this year. I am ready for some to go to 5th grade. December was a great month except for my husband: Mr. Poopy Pants. He was not the best person to be around during the last couple months. He was insanely grumpy and I thought the medication that helped his anxiety was ineffective and maybe he didn't a new one. Let's just say that I am glad that we have two levels of our homes. I prayed for the turd. Our prayers were answered when he finally looked at the bottle last week. He WAS taking medicine for allergies not anxiety. Yes, his allergies were rocking. Now that we figured out that he was not even taking the medicine that we thought he was supposed to be taking. So for three months, he was allergy-free, crazy soul. He went in October for a refill of it and got it filled. This
