Silverwood Theme Park

Image
The whole point of our trip was to go to this amusement/water park. IT is called Silverwood Theme Park . It's supposed to be the largest one in the northwest. It is located in Athol, ID. It is kind of weird to say it aloud and I feel a little naughty when I do say it. The amusement park side was a blast. Okay, here is the truth. The rides scared the crap out of me. I went on one thrill roller coaster ride called the Timber Terror and thought my head would bop into the wooden trestles as we zoomed down one of the roller coasters. I even opened up my eyes during the ride at times just in time to see me miss hitting my head. (just kidding). After it, I decided to throw my towel in and sit out on the next ride called Tremors. Glad that I did! It had four tunnels and drops that would probably make me pee my pants. And it took pictures of you. Ya, that kind of ride.  My favorite ride was the antique cars that had a track. The kids could drive the cars. Maximum speed: 10 miles an

This is where we've decided to hang out

We decided to get a pass to the lake nearby. It beats having the kids watch T.V on the couch or mess up the kind of clean house.Or find them friends to play with. That is a headache in itself since we live in a neighborhood with no kids their age. They are either older or younger. Nothing right in the middle. It is kind of good thing as well. Our plan is to fix up the house and land and put it up for sale in two years and move over to the LaBelle area or out towards Ririe area. I want trees and prettier scenery.  We will continue to go a couple times a week until football practices start. It has been nice and relaxing. It really takes my mind of things that I obsess about. It's a nice brain break and refreshing on the hot days.

Doterra Oils

Image
I don't know if you know but I love these oils. My most favorite oil is the peppermint oil. It has so many uses. Brayden was sick one day and I had to leave him home alone because it was too late to get a sub. He didn't want to go to my brother's and lay on the couch. I snuggled him up on the couch (he is 9) and put some peppermint oil on his forehead, his tummy, and behind his ears. He then slept off his sickness and felt better in the evening. I even diffuse peppermint in my classroom to make them more alert. I am going to diffuse starting the first day of class. Even when my kids have the barfs, I rub this stuff on their tummy and it works because I had the stomach flu back in June and used it. It fought it off. Here is a link to my virtual office , if you are interested in buying some of these oils.  I am not planning to really sell but I thought I would put it out there in case.

ON the way HomE

Image
On the way home, we stopped off at the historical town called Wallace where the silver mines are. This is was one our agenda to do on the way in but we chose to do the gold mine in Kellogg. I wished that we would have done this one as well. Anyways it is such a beautiful place.

Coeur D'Alene Lake

Image
Coeur D'Alene lake is so beautiful. It is 32 miles long. This is just the tip of it. We were going to take a cruise around it but it was 23 dollars per person. Yikes! The kids were a little scared about being on boat so we kind of used the excuse of the price of the trip. However the dock was wrapped around the boats you could walk on it. It was beautiful especially when the huge expensive yachts were coming in. We stood and watched to see how this one enormous yacht park into their slot in the harbor. Amazing.  Yup, I took a picture of me with the water. I am not one to do this but I loved this lake!  We walked along downtown CDA looking into the shops. They had an all Irish shop that was very cool. The next shop we went into was a toy shop. We bought some magnetic putty for the kids and then we went into a gift shop where Clay had to have a CDA shirt. He is such a souvenir junkie.  My kids are being wacky.

downtown SpOkaNe

Back in 1974, Spokane hosted the world's exposition. If you have ever been to one of these, they are absolutely phenomenal. My family and I went to the one in Vancouver, British Columbia back in the 80s when I was a wee teenager. I still have memories of all the exhibits and such. Well, all of the sculptures and all that jazz in Spokane downtown riverfront are from that. Atleast that is what I think... Is that the biggest wagon you had ever seen? No, I didn't go down on it but Clay and the kids did. I think his butt got stuck halfway down. :)  This is a metal trash eating goat. Husband and kids did not believe me but there is a button you push and then it sucks up the trash with its mouth. I cleaned out my whole purse of receipts.  Vroom! vroom!  The picture below is my favorite one of the whole trip. I feel like I am in Holland or something. It is just pretty. So I overcame some of my fears and rode a glass tram over the river and falls and back again. I

Cataldo Mission

Image
Meet Idaho's oldest building. It was built somewhere around 1853. The indians would see men in black robes holding a book so they sent a couple Indians to St. Louis Missouri to find more about this book and wanted it. This started the wheels for the mission in northern Idaho.   The picture above is the ceiling. Not sure if I could take a picture or not. So these are on the down low. The ceiling was probably real gorgeous at once. The color is purple and it comes from huckleberries.  I am pretty sure that is the original flooring. The items in the front are the normal things that you see in a Catholic church. Real pretty stuff. I stuck that picture in because the mountains are so pretty. That is the visitor's center if you want to watch a real boring movie about it. After we viewed the video and visited the mission, we walked over to a cemetery where over 300 unmarked graves were.
