$7.00

Image
This is what $7.00 brought us on Friday night. Fantasy Lights at the Bay at Willard Bay north of Ogden with 33 temps and a heater inside our car.  Good thing I packed our coats and mittens. We were in a horse drawn wagon and I was too chicken to take a picture of the wagon with horses because they were alittle skittish that night. So here is a picture of one of the lights. Ya..I dont remember what that was. Guess what she wanted for Christmas? No clue she kept whispering in his ear and looking at us. I think she was saying "everything" or "a candy cane". She had a good time. What did B ask for? He did not know. He wanted to see if he was the "real" Santa. So Santa had B look at his hands to see if they were real. Then he did not know what he wanted either. $7.00 dollars brought us a horse wagon ride, drive thru the park, and Santa with NO lines. Worth it for me!

Gobble that!

Hey Mom! Look at my turkey. Not burned! Oh ya! Here is our Thanksgiving turkey. It was really good and moist. The leftover turkey sandwiches on a roll are yummy! Here is our partially set table. I used only finest china that I have. I actually remembered that I bought the chargers a couple years and and I actually used them. (the gold monster plates under the china for you men that are clueless). AFTER DINNER and PIE, we decorate for Christmas. The annual decorating their own tree event!! This is our little tradition. When we were married, we had a couple ornaments and some of the decorations from our wedding reception trees to put on our tree. Every year the kids pick out an ornament or two to put on their trees on the main floor. Then when they get married, they can take their ornaments with them.

Thankful Things

Image
While I wait to put the turkey in, I am so thankful for many things in my life. 1. For being a mom and wife--I love being a mom. Even though they came to me from a different source. I am thankful that they were sent to me. Sometimes it is hard being a mom to these unique and special children. But I love them. 2. For my family--I love  mom, dad, brother, sis in law, and nephew. Even though they live in Arizona and come up once or twice a year. I love them and wished they lived closer. 3. For my church--I love the LDS church. It is who I am and what I follow. It is my way of life and I love living it. 4. For my health--Thankful that I have not had any problems besides my hearing. 5. For my job--I like that I can provide for my family and help other children succeed. I like that I can stand in front of students all day and move whenever I want. I like that I can be creative. 6. For my home--My little heaven on Earth. I like that I can be who I want here and relax. I like that I can

What's on your menu?

Thanksgiving is two days away. We are going with the basics this year. Turkey--I love my turkey. I found an awesome recipe a couple years ago and it brings guaranteed moistness. You can find it here .  Yummy! Mashed Potatoes and Gravy--Not from the box. I boil the taters. The mash them up with milk, butter, and pepper. Gravy...well if it works homemade style if not I have packet on hand which I end up using because it is easy to do. Stuffing--I usually buy the seasoned Mrs. Cubbison's and then put clams and mushrooms in it. Sounds gross. It is actually good...But this year we are just having a box of stove top stuffing..Yup! Green Beans--These ARE the best green beans EVER! Just ask my sis in law Erica.  Don't use fresh either. 2 (15 ounce) cans green beans 1 cube beef bouillon cube (I actually use a teaspon of chicken bouillon) 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon butter 1 pinch garlic pepper seasoning Drain the green beans, res

Snow!

Image
Before During Photo Op before playing in the snow. What a bunch of angels! And they are mine! I know it is Sunday but I could not let this pass them by. We left church earlier. I dont know why I am still fascinated by sitting by the window and just watching the snow fall. After the storm passed, the kiddies were so eager to go outside and play. They had a good time. B is almost big enough to start shoveling. He was helping me go back and forth. It is amazing how 3-4 inches can pile up. Husband was whining about shoveling the snow and that he hates the snow now (what a wuss but that is another story)) so I did most of the driveway. I love the snow and I dont mind the shoveling.

Okay, I am cleaning up my mini blog world. I made my spiritual blog private for now (actually just dormant). Being LDS is a part of me and my little family. I am not going to separate my spirituality from my family blog because it is who I am and I am proud of it. I thought I was not being as spiritual as I wanted but I was wrong. I am spiritual every day of my life and I needed to realize that. Feeling the Holy Spirit shouldn't come forced and I was forcing myself to feel it.  I know that I have a testimony and I don't need a separate blog to share it.

Christmas present

Image
These are for members of my husband's family. (they are never on the computer by the way, I think)) . They had scripture tote bags for the super saturday made from a placemat and a napkin. Not sure why I paid 8.00 dollars for a placemat, some material, and some rick rack. I think it would have costed maybe $4.00 the least. Anyways, I have one more to make. I will post a picture of that one later.   I bought some silk flowers from Porters and glued them to cover some of my stitching. It probably took me 15 minutes to do this whole project. I am going to make my daughter one for her dance shoes. Very easy to make. Kind of impressed with myself as I am not a good seamstress.

Colder weather means

ot chocolate delights for the kids.My son and daughter are having a hot cocoa jumpstart. That means it is time to get our hot cocoa machine out and the ingredients stocked in our cupboards for homemade cocoa. So for now, Stephens cocoa will just have to do! Kids are loving the orange creme.

Pumpkin dip and that is all

Image
Sorry no pics today, but imagine an orange-like baby food you have seen and you will imagine this pumpkin dip. Pumpkin Dip 2 cups powdered sugar 1 8oz pkg of cream cheese 15 oz can of pumpkin filling 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp ginger * needs more spice (maybe some nutmeg) Cream the sugar and the cream cheese until smooth. Then add the rest and mix. Chill for 8 hours. Serve with apple or pear slices and some ginger snaps. I made this for our munchie day at work. I am not a fan of pumpkin but it sounded interesting. It needed some more spice. It made a nice size med bowlful of orange like baby poop, I mean goop.  It was more than half way gone when I disposed of it after my kids devoured some of it as well.   If you are pumpkin fan, this is good appetizer. No new news here in the land of Ingram. We are all healthy and warm. I have nothing to really write about. My life has been boring these past two weeks. I have been a little lonely but this time I don't mind. I had to

My little moments

Image
I love my little moments of quiet when I can watch them peacefully dream. My son Brayden has always had a creative imagination. We have to be careful to what we watch because he freaks out and gets scared very easily. Clay was watching the new show V and Brayden was downstairs with him playing with his new cars. I tell him that he needs to come to bed. He grabs my leg and holds on tight all the way up the stairs and tells me he is scared. Then I can't leave his side when he uses the restroom. I tuck him in and he covers his head with the blankets. I have to burrow his face out so he can breathe. That is what you see above. Lyndee is such a little cutie! She loves the color pink. Under neath the fleece throw is pinkness. She said she did not want black on her bed and I told her that she needed to be warm so this is it! Her room is the coldest and I feel for her. My little one does not sleep a full deep sleep at night enough as it is. Very light sleeper! Okay..so .I told my hus

Halloween Ingram Style

Image
We don't really have a style. We just like to have a good time together as a family!! Lyndee was batgirl, Brayden was black spiderman, and Clayton was a phantom. I forgot to get a picture of the phantom but HE will come out again next year. We decided not to go the neighborhood that we always go to..Big mistake! I did not have a really good time and Brayden and Lyndee whined and whined about walking so next time we will stick to our original route. Oh..we had about 15 trick or treaters..Maybe I will get more next year! Anyways, the kids had a blast getting their goodies and of course eating them!!

Son Turns 6

Image
My little man turned six on Thursday. He chose corndogs for dinner and I included some homemade french fries to go with it..And this year I made his cake. He chose strawberry and pink frosting--no sprinkles. Oh...he blew his 6 candle out (I forgot to buy more candles) We enjoyed a nice evening together. He received matchbox cars from Lyndee, a matchbox car set from Grandma, money, lots of presents from his party the previous weekend, and a his Transformer movie. All in all, he was spoiled!

Cookie Tradition

Image
We kind of made our sugar cookies a little late this year (late for me is a couple days before Halloween). We cut out witches, pumpkins, cats, Frankenstein, bats, and ghosts. I chose a lovely shade of purple and of course our Halloween sprinkles. I finally found an awesome cookie frosting that has a great flavor and hardens up so you can stack your cookies. Yum for our family!
