Fall dinner and then some fun!

Image
I needed something to cheer me up. Cooking for my family always does. Serious! I have been so bombarded with things. I need to relax and take a chill pill. I have been getting up at 630 on my Saturdays and working in my classroom for a couple hours. Then I head to Brayden's football game and grade papers while I am watching him play. Then grocery shopping or other errands. Why do I cram everything in on Saturday?  So...here was our Saturday meal to ring in fall..my favorite season...ah!!!  For dinner we ate our awesome apple pancakes with apple cider syrup. Yum...If you want the recipe, email me!  To wrap up the evening, our little family met up with my brother and his family and went to the corn maze just north of our little town. We have never been in a corn maze and it was so much fun. I can say that I was able to jump out and scare my brother..Ha ha! The kids enjoyed and that meant the world to me.

Just a ramble..

First front tooth

Image
That stinkin' front tooth has been dangling for weeks. She would not let me nor the dentist touch it. I even tried to pull it out last night while she was sleeping. She knew it was me and she would keep moving her mouth. One time she even puffed up her cheeks, but she never even opened her eyes. After I made her hair all pretty, I noticed ice cream residue on her face. As I was cleaning her mouth and face, it snagged on the washcloth..Out the tooth came!! It was a glorious day. Now she needs to work on the other.

Fire in the pit....and wild horses..

To finish off our firewood, Clay on the spur decided to have one last fire of the summer in our pit. I had to finish my yucky homework assignment. After I finished, I went outside to enjoy some family time with husband and kids. We heard distant farm animals like a horse neighing and maybe some goats bleating. I commented to my husband that they sounded weird.  Then our dogs started barking furiously. Next thing we know, a whole bunch of horses ( could have been two to four) come through the two houses in our backyard and cut through our yard where we were at. Clay says, "Run!" I think I carried my chair 40 feet to ward off the lions. We are ran into our fenced in yard and into the house and peeked out the blinds. We are a bunch of wimps, I know.  The horses went somewhere across the 100 road. No one even came looking for them.  No clue where they went so we went back out to enjoy our fire. The kids were spooked and so was I. Every so often while we were enjoying the rest of

1st day of school..

Ahh! My babies. Off to their first day of school. Lyndee is in first grade and Brayden will be in second grade. I love this time of year. The firsts of many things in their lives. Lyndee...what can I say? I hope you do many great things this year. You will learn how to read, add, subtract, and make new friends. I hope you succeed in paying attention, raising your hand, and being the best. I hope you soar, Lyndee. So proud of Brayden, he did a great job learning how to read in 1st grade. I can't wait until we can read more books together. Yay! You get to add, subtract, multiply, and learn how to patient with others in your classroom. Good luck buddy!
