Corn on the Cob Ingram Style

Image
I love corn on the cob cooked on the grill. This is how I make it. I half the corn so it is easier for my kids to hold and eat. Then I put a pat of butter on the corn. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder or whatever you want. Then I wrap it up in foil making sure it does not leak. I put it on the top part in the grill as the grill heats up for the meat. It stays there until my meat is done. I do not turn the corn. Put corncob holders on and ENJOY!

Pucker Up, Buddy!

Image
I bought a huge lemon juice bottle for the cherry lemonade concentrate that I canned. I will post the recipe and pics in a day or so. Brayden was beggin' me to drink some. I told him that I needed it for something that I was making. So as I was making this concentrate, I saved him alittle bit and I loved his expressions. Kind of funny as he usually eats slices of lemons without puckering. My mouth is watering as I write this.

L's Soccer Picture

Image
Lyndee has two more weeks of soccer games and she got her picture last night. I think she looks adorable. I scanned it and cropped the team picture out. I thought she was going to get a separate picture from the team. Oh well! I haven't gotten Brayden's picture yet.

Zucchini Casserole

Image
Ya know I feel like such an accomplished farmer when I can grow one of the easiest plants...Zucchini. So tonight in honor of the many zucchinis we will be harvesting over the next month, we had zucchini casserole. And it was darn good! The kids ate most of what was on their plate even Lyndee. 2 cups of diced zucchini (small cubes, please if they are too big..kids will not eat) 1 small can whole corn, drained 1 small can diced green chiles (we used hot because that is what we had..next time..mild for the kids) 1 small onion diced 1 clove of garlic..(we used two) 2/3 cups grated cheese 1 pound of ground beef (we don't eat beef so ground turkey was yummers!) 1 can of tomato sauce Brown the meat and mix it all together. We topped it with alittle extra cheese. Put in baking dish and bake at 350 for about a 1/2 hour or until done. Then we topped it with our Macayo's taco sauce (can be bought at Fry's) but you can use salsa if you want.

Cool Down at Grandma's

Image
It was really hot when we went to Utah this weekend. Brayden wanted to cool off with his sister in the sprinklers. Lyndee did not run through them. She just wanted to look pretty in her swim suit. Brayden ran through them and felt soooo good.

Pioneer Day Parade in Ogden

Image
These rogue cowboys were shooting their guns in the air. Really loud..Got the kids attention. Woo hoo! An Osmond. Loved seeing the missionaries walk down the street singing the Battle Hymn of Republic. We headed to Ogden for Pioneer Day. We all went to the parade down Washington. Very long parade and really hot. The kids were bored. They loved that we were able to set off fireworks again this month. We even went to watch them from someone's house on the hill. What an awesome view! Sorry did not take pictures of that.

Rigby Bed Races

Image
For my Arizona friends and family, you can see what a small town I live in now....Anyways, Rigby had their first annual bed races. This was to raise money for the library, I think. They had a pancake breakfast that we slept in and missed. The races were at 10. Yup, we were up by then. They had 5 to a team (four pushed and one rode on the actual bed). At midway, they did a chinese firedrill and continued to the end. Some people brought water balloons and threw it at them. I thought it was kind of funny and one missed the beds and almost hit Clayton..(hee hee) We will go next year. It would have been cooler if there were more beds. Hopefully, it will be a bigger event next year.

Big Dog Adventures

Image
The Cclprit of the smiles on my kids' faces. He was so hot he just walked in the pirate boat..Didn't help that he wanted to chew it up. They poured water on him from their water can to give him a bath....Funny! Just relaxing in the shade together. This is NOT our dog. This dog likes to roam our neighborhood, tease my own dogs in the backyard, put footprints in my garden, leave little presents, and of course he brings smiles to my kids' faces when in our front yard. He won't shoo out of our yard even if we spray water on him.(believe me we've tried). He just goes in the shade and lies down. He has even followed my friend and I on our evening walk protecting us even as we told him to go home. Yesterday he was out our house for a while in the afternoon and in the evening. I wonder if his owners know about this..

Cherries Overload

Image
So...I decided to go ahead and get 30 pounds of bing cherries last week not realizing what a task it was to de-stem and pit those little suckers. It took a full day to do that. Good thing I bought this handy cherry stoner. I know what your thinking cherries do splatter. I did not realize this until there was cherry spots on the floor and on everything else. So you ask what am I going to do with them? No clue..but here is what I ended up with...8 cups of pureed cherries to equal 2 trays of fruit leather (which was not alot), 3 quart size bags of dehydrated whole cherries, and then 10 1/2 quart size bags which equals 42 cups. With all these cherries, you know what that means...we will need to make a "pit" stop to get more toilet paper.

My nephew's prebirthday cake

Image
My awesome nephew Tyler turns 8 in a couple of weeks. Since he does not live here anymore, we decided to have cake for dessert and have him blow out some candles while he is here. He was excited for that!! Well, who would not be, right? Now I just need to remember to send him a card and his present. What kind of cake you ask? It is a two layer jello poke cake (red and green jello) with cool whip. Ya, thats not really frosting.

Park day

Image
Since my nephew Tyler was in town, I took everyone to the many parks that Rigby has to offer. We ate at Rigby park for lunch. Here is a lovely picture of how Lyn shoves food in her mouth. and then we went to Scotty's Park to play on the rock. I love this little park. I pushed them around on the merry go round and was really tempted to get on it. My brother did and I pushed him and the kids around in it. Maybe Erica will post pictures on her blog of that. (Okay, I really don't understand how that contraption works..All I know when I pushed it, it came back and hit me in the shin.(Did I forget to tell you I was a spacey and clumsy dork..my knee still hurts from "the" tramp wipeout..so now let's add my shin to the list of body aches for the summer break)

Picnic

Image
We went for a little picnic up at Green Canyon so I could show Eric and Erica how pretty it is. The kids ate their lunchables and then we had some little visitors...Baby chipmunks. They were fast little creatures. I had the hardest time capturing them..We bribed them with pringles and it worked.

My New Porch Chairs

Image
Well, this past weekend I won resin wicker chairs at Real Deals. I love this store. There are stores in Rexburg and Idaho Falls.(For all you AZ people there is one in Mesa but it is not as good as these two stores.) I am so happy about them because as I was leaving the store I told my sister in law how I wished I would win those chairs. Then I got a phone call at dinnertime saying I won. These chairs were $120 each. Yeah for me and my front porch plus they are comfy.

Rexburg Parade

Image
Before...anxiously awaiting the arrival of the sugar bugs Cute horses...I loved how they did a huge circle in the intersection..but did not like what they left behind. Uh....he went off and collected more sugar.. She was getting handfuls of candy at times. Don't ask me why she is only wearing one gardening glove. We just tell people that it is in honor of MJ. We have never been to this parade, but we will keep the tradition of going each year. I miss these kind of hometown parades. We left at 9:10 and headed up to Rexburg. We parked on the street above Walgreen's and then walked down and sat at the intersection where the parade starts. I loved this spot for the kids. My kids were crazy for candy and even my nephew got a bunch..Brayden was getting alittle worn out and will probably sleep great tonight...The parade...I really enjoyed it. Lyndee Highlights: I try to keep her grounded and near me but she has a little mind of her own. I swear I do my best...but....She went up to th
