Meet my Scout

Image
At the beginnning of the school year, a flyer came out about signing your boy up for a community Tiger Scouts. My co teacher at school and I decided to sign both of our boys up for it since our church starts at Wolves. We went to the community meeting and they asked for volunteers. I whispered to her, "Let's volunteer to be the den leaders so we have control of what they do and where." I am also his den leader as well. We meet on Thursday nights at 7pm at a church by the high school with 10 other boys. Cant you tell how excited he is!!! We'll I am just as excited to..So there to me, back to my yellow shirt.   We were super excited that he gets to wear his Cub Scout gear as well. We bought him his cool shirt at the scout office, his patches, book, and belt. He is almost ready to earn his Bobcat so he will have his first patch...We are so proud of him.                                        I really love the concept of scouts and what they stand for! And I am glad

Busy week

Image
Sorry no pictures. I have been so busy this week to a point where I am sure to have a nervous breakdown. First, I have a student teacher in my room over the next 10 weeks. I thought it would be a welcome relief to give her things to teach but I am more exhausted and it is tiring work. Then grades had to be put in and it was down over the Christmas break so I had a huge pile to get in. Parent teacher conferences were on Thursday. I didn't meet with alot. I met with most of my students'  parents. The one that I wanted to talk to of course didn't show. My own children are doing great in class. Brayden is started to read more and more each day. He is reading near the end of his grade level. Lyndee knows all of her alphabet and sounds. They finally let her check out a library book. Yippee! Sometimes I wish that they would treat Kindergarten with more rigor toward the middle of the year to get them ready for first. Just my opinion. My house is feeling very neglected and wil

Resolution Time...a family goal

Finally, a chance to sit down and reflect on my past week and boy was it a doozy. One thing that I have failed at this week is getting us all together to read our scriptures together as a family and get family home evening done as well. Two weekends ago, I bought this FHE board at Deseret Book for 12 bucks. It looked cute and it is exactly what we needed to help plan our evening. It will work awesome when the kids alittle bit older and can read.  I know already that I can't committ to a regularly scheduled FHE every single week. I am glad for those that do. Yay you! So here it comes...my resolution #1: FHE  I am going to shoot for weekly but I already failed last week so I will be happy if I have it a couple times a month. I understand the concept of it.  I spend a lot of time with my children and we talk about a lot of things and how to approach any problems or difficulties in the life of a 6 and 7 year old. That I wouldn't take away or wait until a Monday night to tackle

New Hair Do For Lyndee

Image
For Lyndee's birthday, Grandma gave Lyndee the B irthday Barbie. The barbie had really fluffy hair so Lyndee wanted her hair like that. I wanted to do her hair likreal cute like that for church but I couldn't get it together in time. On Monday and Wednesday night, I wetted her hair and then I braided it all over. When she woke up, we unbraided it and put a cute little bow to compliment her hair. So she had cute fluffy hair on Tuesday and Thursday..Impressed how it looked like a perm and with no cost... Yes, I used her name. She has a name after all.

Happy Birthday Sister Lou!

Someone here finally turned 6! We had her birthday party before all the Christmas hoopla. This was nice...just family. The cake is a white cake with strawberry jello then topped with whipped cream. Then for dinner we had pizza. Sister Lou's birthday is on New Year's Eve.  So get ready for this...we told Little Man and Sister Lou that they can stay up to midnight to ring in the New Year. They actually made it! I started to poop out around 10 but I made it. Opening gifts from family... Thanks for all the gifts, Grandma!. You rock! Her birthday barbie. Okay, I am going to let you in on a little secret but you can't tell anybody. I caught my son playing Barbies with Sister Lou today and yesterday. We have a boy Barbie. But my son informed me that it is not a boy Barbie but a Prince. Sorry no pictures of that! Last week, daughter and I went for some quality girl time at the mall to return some Christmas presents. I told her she had some birthday money to spend. This

Box Bonfire

Image
We finally burned all the Christmas and birthday boxes on Saturday in our pit. Man, it was alot of was exercise to bring those boxes out. We had to climb over a two foot drift with each trip from the garage. Then black ashes started to fly from the boxes...Sorry neighbors. It was fun. We will definitely do that with our boxes again next year. I washed my coat in fear that it would smell like campfire. Notice..all the snow..my AZ family. Ya..it will be here until atleast March.
