Got arrested last week...

Image
Last week, we read about mysteries. One of my coteachers has a brother who is a police officer. She brought him to talk about what he does and what he needs to help solve a crime. Well..the co teacher accused me of stealing her teapot..Me? I denied it but he knew I was lying and I had to give it back to her. I guess stealing is wrong so he arrested me in front of all our little fourth graders...handcuffs and all.  It was not very cool once I was in the cruiser. Very uncomfortable. I had about 6 inches of leg room..in a skirt. I had him uncuff me before getting out so I could straighten my skirt. I hope that will be the only time that I am in a police car.

First pack meeting as wolf

Earlier in that day, Brayden and other scouts were to hand out scouting for food flyers. Clay and I decided the night before to bag that activity and just do the pack meeting. Husband had to deliver something in a nearby neighborhood and Brayden begged to do the scout thing..so off he went. Later after Lyndee's clogging lessons, I was finally home. We sat down for dinner and Brayden told me that he was bit by a dog. He showed me and I wasn't too happy about it as I didn't want him to be out handing out flyers. We ended up having to take him to community care before his pack meeting and then after pack meeting..the sheriff's dept. I have no problem with a little nip from a dog but if it draws blood from a bite. I have a problem. I was also worried that he would be scared of dogs. So back to pack meeting.. It was a Halloween themed. He got a segment for handing out flyers and was introduced into the pack. It was a little too chaotic and less structured for my taste. Eve

Football

Football for Brayden is officially over! Yay! His team did really great and made it all the way to the championship game but lost the game. I can't wait for next for year. I am glad that he was on a team with friends from school. I am glad that he was finally given a play to run the ball in one of the last games. He played several positions. And...finally. he got the ball and ran a 70 yard touchdown. The only thing that I didn't like about this season was that the coach gave his own son too many plays to run and didn't give other kids on the team enough chance. Other than that, it was a great experience for Brayden and I am so glad that he had a great time.

Apple Picking...it is not for the birds...

Image
For last couple years, I hear about people going to pick apples at this orchard. I have wanted to but always when it was too late. Since I am a beginner canner, I want to can some apple pie filling jam. Yes, jam. I want to make some apple butter. Then I want to make my family some homemade apple sauce. I know I will go back next week to pick more apples. But until then....we shall snack on these wonderful precious fruits of our Heavenly Father. My favorite picture....This was the view of the mountains nearby (you have got to click this picture for a bigger view...). We had our first snow on Thursday--about 2 inches. It is all gone--thank goodness. Anyways, those mountains hold my precious huckleberries. What a view! I am so jealous that they get to look out everyday.   Picking honeycrisp apples with my honeys! We filled our cooler in no time. I wanted to bring two but put only one in.Lyndee picked so much that her little bag broke. She was so pleased with her apple picking skills.
