Home By the Creekside

We decided after seeing the vole damage in our yard that it was time to invest in a cat. Yesterday, the principal at my school was cleaning several kittens up. They were found under the garbage bin by the cafeteria. They had colds and conjuctivitis in their eyes. I guess they ended up belonging to the girl across the street. Mom was pleased and relieved that I and another person were going to take the kittens. I was hoping that we would take a girl. We "thought" it was girl...but it's a boy. He will be a our new garage kitty. He will stay in the garage for a month or so before we let him venture outside. The dogs are not too curious but they are suspicious. We will introduce them in a couple days. Lyndee had wanted to call the cat Crystal but it is a boy. We are helping her pick a name out that is not Pink, Crystal, or any other girly name. We are trying to persuade her to name him Vader for Darth Vader. But right now we are stuck on Zane. Well keep you posted to see

Wow! A post? Mid week? Crazy, huh. Something to actually blog about. Our lives have been a smidge on the boring side. However, we dyed our Easter eggs Saturday morning and then hid them for the kids to find them that afternoon.

When we moved here, we bought a house that was unfinished in parts of the basement. There are two bedrooms, a bath, a storage room, and theater room?? Who needs a theater room when I a freaking long/big family room. We have designated that room an office or maybe that is what it is supposed to be.  Anyways.....here is a view of before. Now husband and a friend from work tried to drywall and I bet the guys will have to fix most of it. At least it will be done right. Standing by the bathroom. View into the family room. Room with no windows..Awkward space right there. Maybe a cabinet will fit in there. Man, I wish the builders of my home gave us a cold storage. Bet that was supposed to be the entrance. Future bathroom. That greenboard was removed.... Brayden's future bedroom. It will be bigger for him as he grows. Can you believe we have 12 more years until his mission? I am sad now. I have been so busy. I feel bad that I have not been able to document anything in our lives this past week. We have been boring and busy. Between scouts, finishing my last master's class (which I received a 100% in), finishing up a student teaching experience in my room, getting my students ready for their big ISAT test, and well feeling just drained and overwhelmed... I haven't had the time to focus on family and our home. Which will change in May! I am looking forward to summer vacation, family, future camping trips, and rest! Ya, I have nothing. Wait....I do have something. I am purchasing one (for me) ticket to Phoenix and spending the weekend there at the end of April...BY myself with no kids. Can't wait to see my sister (best childhood friend) get remarried and go out for some yummy Mexican food! We did get a new computer and new cell phones.
