It's the Final Countdown!!!

Some of us teachers have a countdown for the days that are left until that certain freedom. You ALL know what that freedom is? For some it could be...The freedom of ....not reminding a certain student to put their name on their paper every single day. Hello...you should know your name by now and of course I can pick out each and everyone's handwriting. The freedom of....... not having to say Shhh! when you are walking in the halls. The freedom of.....not asking for volunteers to solve a problem. Of course everyone raises their hands but choosing...someone anyone that will get it right the first time. The freedom of...asking where your reading log is when you know it is due every Friday since August.... Oh....and The freedom of....MY alarm clock. I can't wait to sleep in, be a stay at home mom and stay home ALL DAY LONG, and read books all day long. Did I mention stay home all day long for about 3 months? Could someone speed the clock up for me, please? For me this year the coun

Bugged

Image
For Brayden's preschool today, we needed to create a bug from a clothespin. Brayden chose his two favorite colors --orange and blue-- to paint on the bug. It has a blue body with an orange head. Then we put orange polka dots on it along with blue puff paints that are supposed to look like spikes. He did most of the work. I just did the touch up and helped put the polka dots on. He will be graduating from preschool on May 12. We are so glad about that but scared because he will be in Kindergarten next year at my school with me.

You Be the Judge!

My husband loves Ghost Hunters and all that garbage. He was hoping that the pictures that I took at the old prison in Boise would have something. I was taking a picture of a horse-pulled hearse. The woodwork work was awesome on it. NOW...Do you see hands coming down in the top right hand corner above Lyndee Lou? If you click on the picture to look at it closer, it will give you a good shot of hands OR not? Leave your thoughts or be chilled.

Egg Hunt

Image
I have to sneak a picture of my dad helping the kids dye their Easter eggs. And they are off! Wow! There was even one on the trampoline. Clayton had to help Lyndee find them and Brayden..well he was on his own. They had such a good time searching for their eggs and wanted me to hide them again for them.

Our own ghost adventure

Clay loves watching Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, or anything with haunted history. So...we went to the Idaho State Penitentiary. It was on Ghost Adventures. You can watch a little clip here . Just click on the side that says Idaho State Penitentiary. When we were there, I could feel how I totally did not belong there. As a woman in a men's prison area, I felt like I was being watched. It was a odd eery feeling walking in the cell blocks, going to the gallows (where they hang people), and the maximum security buildings. The kids did not really understand but thought it was pretty cool. We told Brayden that men who did not choose the right came here. Boy did he straighten up for a moment or two. We did not get any ghostly pictures but again the feeling was there.

Easter Hunt in Park

Image
We went to the huge Ann Morrison Park in Boise for an Easter Egg Hunt. Needless to say the kids and I were kind of bummed that it was an Easter "candy" hunt. We ditched it as the kiddos don't need all that candy. So we went back to our hotel room to get ready for a drive to the mall.

Weekend Trip

Image
We don't do many weekend trips because we have 3 dogs and kennel prices are expensive. This summer I am going to find a neighbor boy that would be willing to take of my babies. So...we went to Boise for the weekend. My dad is working over there so we needed to get away and the kids needed to see their grandpa. Here is our room pictures. Thanks dad for getting us this room. We had a great time.

resurrection roll recipe

When we get back from our little weekend getaway on Sunday, we are going to talk about the resurrection of Christ with our little ones and the REAL reason for Easter. We are going to make this recipe that I found on the internet. I think this is a cute idea: The rolls represent the wrapping of Jesus' body after death. The marshmallow is the body of Jesus. The melted butter represents the oils of embalming. The cinnamon/sugar represents the spices used to anoint the body. The oven represents the tomb. Let the rolls cool slightly. Then when my children open their rolls (cloth) and discover that Jesus is no longer there. We can talk about how was resurrected. INGREDIENTS 1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls 8 large marshmallows 1/4 cup melted butter 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons white sugar DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet. Separate crescent rolls into individual triangles. In a small bowl, mix togethe

teepee picture

Brayden decided to make a huge bed out of all the extra blankets and all our pillows in the house. Guess who had to clean it up! This is the teepee that I wanted to make so the kids can hang out there during conference on Sunday. It is not perfect but it will do. The kids love it mistakes and all. The PVC pipe is too long. Clay is going to chop the extra off tomorrow. I miscalculated the length. Then..I was supposed to get 60 inch fabric but could only find 54 inch that I actually liked. Loved the store I got it from and I might make curtains from the leftover material. Then I might go back and get material to make a comforter for our bed. I have not really sewed since high school.
