Crystal Gold Mine in Kellogg, ID

On Saturday, we left for Coeur D'Alene. We decided to break up the trip. We stayed in Missoula, MT over night. As Sunday came around, we headed through curvy mountain passes to our destination. Along the way is a mining district. We decided to skip Wallace which was a mistake and I wished that we put that in. We decided to go to Crystal Gold Mine. It cost us about 46.00 for the tour. It was neat. We went 500 feet back into a mountain on a guided tour to see how the miners did hard rock mining.

In back of Lyndee is water, I can't remember what the guide said about it because I didn't pay attention.

After the tour, we were able to pan for gold in their troughs. Although, there was just gold dust. The kids had more fun collected the polished rocks they put in there and I searched high and low for garnet pieces and found some.
